Background
Outfit decisions can often feel overwhelming, especially when you’re standing in front of a closet full of clothes, unsure of what to wear. I wanted to design a solution that helps users make better, easier decisions by reimagining how they interact with their wardrobe. The goal of this project was to explore how users can maximize their existing clothes and reduce the stress of choosing outfits, by developing an app that suggests personalized looks based on body type, preferences, and daily activities. After some initial research, I realized that many users struggle with decision fatigue due to overstuffed wardrobes and a lack of understanding of how to make their clothing work for them. This insight led me to focus on creating an intuitive, stylish, and practical app that turns daily outfit selection into a simpler, more enjoyable experience.
Challenges
The main challenge was narrowing down the problem space. Outfits and wardrobe management is a broad issue, and I needed to focus on a specific aspect that would resonate with users. Another challenge was the abundance of existing outfit planning apps, yet none seemed to truly solve the problem of decision fatigue or offer personalized suggestions based on individual needs. The question was: how could my app stand out and offer a truly unique and helpful experience?

Breaking Down the Problem
After conducting research, I identified key challenges users face when it comes to outfit planning and wardrobe management. To better define these issues, I created problem statements, aligning each one with a specific user need. I then formulated corresponding How Might We? questions to explore potential solutions and defined KPIs to measure success.

Next Step
Following the user testing phase, several refinements will be implemented to enhance the ClothetAI experience. First, the AI recommendation system will be refined to allow users to adjust outfit suggestions based on mood, formality, or specific style preferences. Additionally, improvements will be made to the virtual try-on feature to enhance fit accuracy, ensuring a more realistic representation of how outfits appear in real life.
To improve organization, more customization options will be added to outfit collections, including a quick-share feature that enables users to receive feedback from friends. The onboarding process will also be enhanced by incorporating example outfit previews during the style quiz, helping users make more informed choices. Lastly, a user feedback loop will be introduced, allowing individuals to rate AI-generated outfits, which will help fine-tune recommendations over time.
These enhancements will ensure ClothetAI continues to offer a seamless and personalized styling experience, making fashion planning effortless and enjoyable for users.
